Resolutions: Soap stars start fresh in 2015

Daytime stars open up about what they'd like to see disappear with 2014 and the joys they'd like in the year ahead.

Everyone has personal habits and weaknesses they'd like to see disappear as fast as a New Year's Eve bottle of bubbly, and soap stars are no different. But just what very human qualities do these seemingly perfect men and women possess? Soap Central spoke with some of the genre's hottest stars to get the scoop on that, as well as ask what resolutions they've set for 2015. Read on for their answers then tell us in the comment section below which personal habits and weaknesses you'd like to see disappear with 2014, and which strengths you'd love to see the New Year bring.

Guy Wilson (Will Horton, DAYS) "I think what I'd like to see be vanquished is I would love to just be able to let go, because I think we all have a tendency sometimes to entertain self-doubt or sort of allow negative thinking to get in our way, and I'd really like to do better at letting go of that. It's one thing to know that we all can work on improvement, but you know, not always being so hard on myself if things don't go the way I'd like or if I don't perform the way I should perform. And I mean that in all aspects of life, not strictly as an actor. So that's what I'd like to let go of, is negative thinking. And then one area where I'd really like to grow is I feel like I was so good in the first half of 2014 of getting into the gym every day and exercising and eating healthy, and it's not that I'm unhealthy, but I'd really like to get back into the really competitive athletic shape and get back into a soccer league or something like that and really start competing physically again. I think that would be really good for me and I'd definitely be feeling better physically. I'd like to do that."

Ashlyn Pearce (Alexandria Forrester, B&B) "Although I love Coca-Cola, it is definitely a weakness of mine. There is no way I'll be able to stop drinking it altogether, but I definitely hope to cut back on my soda intake. I hope the strength that comes for me in 2015 is upper body strength because I have none whatsoever. Definitely going to be working more on physical fitness for the upper body in the New Year."

Scott Elrod (Joe Clark, Y&R) "[I'd like to] slow down and be present, make sure I take everything in, and appreciate it (whatever it may be) for all that it is worth."

Kristen Alderson (Kiki Jerome, GH) "I never cook. Chad [Duell, Michael Corinthos] and I just moved in together. I want to be more domestic and make dinner. I still won't be able to resist an occasional Taco Bell though..."

Christopher Sean (Paul Narita, DAYS) "One weakness that I would love to strengthen would be my left pinky toe. Just kidding. Actually, the weakness would be junk food. I'm like the Cookie Monster when it comes to desserts. A positive quality that I will focus on is refining my goals so they are more accurate and a better blueprint towards success. Oh, and slow down on the junk food!"

Lynn Herring (Lucy Coe, GH) "Because I can get many things done at once very quickly, I sometimes go way too fast. I want to slow down and savor the steps instead of only the result."

Robert Adamson (Noah Newman, Y&R) "Less vice, more progress. Learn again at least one new skill. Keep bettering my process as a new daddy."

Linsey Godfrey (Caroline Spencer, B&B) "Oh boy! I can be a little whiny and complainy about things, and I'd like that to go away. And then maybe just be able to muffle through things. I'll muffle through things, but I'll bitch about it the whole way. I don't want anybody to do anything for me. I like to do it myself, but I want you to know that I'm pissed off that I'm doing it!"

Lisa LoCicero (Olivia Falconeri, GH) "Sadly, I have the same major weakness as last year (and every year before): disorganization. I'm really hoping to be inspired to mercilessly throw out what I don't need and simplify my life before the baby arrives next year!"

Jen Lilley (Theresa Donovan, DAYS) "I have a horrible habit of over-committing myself. While I fully believe in making the most of each day, I am making a point of saying no to too many activities in 2015 so I can spend more time with my patient and wonderful husband, Jason. I hope 2015 teaches me the strength and grace of saying 'Not now,' instead of 'Yes, I'll get it done immediately (along with 20 other deadlines).' I'm going to try to work out too. I never leave time for myself and my health in my schedule."

Camryn Grimes (Mariah Copeland, Y&R) "Have more adventures!"

Robert Scott Wilson (Ben Ridgeway, DAYS) "Procrastination is my weakness. And I hope that my patience becomes stronger in the year 2015, God bless."

Cady McClain (Kelly Andrews, Y&R) "I want to make sure I keep taking care of my body and challenging myself to keep moving into deeper creativity."

Karla Mosley (Maya Avant, B&B) "The weakness is my chronic 10 minutes late. I'm totally 10 minutes late for everything. That is my biggest weakness, and it is so hard for me to kick! Strength? You know, activism and art go hand in hand for me. So the more ways that I can work on projects that inspire me and help other people to also produce and see their projects realized that inspire them. That's important to me."

Bryan Dattilo (Lucas Horton, DAYS) "A personal weakness or habit is that I skip my acting class too much. I have to prepare for my acting class more. I don't go to it enough, and it's a bad habit. It's once a week, and sometimes I go, and sometimes I don't. So I should just go more, because sometimes I don't. And that's not good. Something I hope to make better in 2015 would probably just be being more understanding of my son growing up and making his own mistakes. [I should] cut him some slack because sometimes I feel like I'm too hard on him. Because I want him to be the best he can be, but I don't want to just be on him, because he's 14 and he's changing. So in 2015, I have to give him a little slack and let him be a kid and know he's going to make mistakes and just expect them instead of being shocked when it happens."

Burgess Jenkins (Billy Abbott, Y&R) "I'm not really one for resolutions; I simply want to remain grateful for all of our blessings."

Kassie DePaiva (Eve Donovan, DAYS) "Personal habit is lack of motivation to exercise. And my strength that I would like is my belief in God. My spiritual journey is my strength, and I would like to continue growing that."

Kathleen Gati (Liesl Obrecht, GH) "I'd like to stick to my daily exercise schedule that keeps me feeling groovy (okay, semi-groovy) so I can be less stressed and enjoy more of everything. Sometimes a crazy work schedule makes that hard, but in 2015...in 2015...watch out! I'll be SO GROOVY."

Mishael Morgan (Hilary Curtis, Y&R) "To continue to live my life without New Year resolutions! If I feel like changing something in my life, I do it right away, I never wait till [the] New Year. Live each day to the fullest. That's my life-time resolution!"
