General Hospital viewers were treated to a blast from One Life to Live's past when Mark Lawson (ex-Brody Lovett) unexpectedly showed up on the ABC soap opera as Lulu Falconeri's (Emme Rylan) date! His surprise July 9 appearance was an immediate hit with fans who knew him from his Llanview days, and it turns out the actor was equally thrilled for the chance to visit Port Charles.
Soon after his episode aired, Lawson took to social media to share some details about his GH appearance. His post included a video with a thank you to fans for their support.
"I just wanted to send out a little post of gratitude to everyone who tuned in or has since watched GH yesterday and posted comments and just spread the word that I got to be on yesterday. It was so much fun," he says. "I've had my eye on GH for awhile and was really glad that I got to do that."
Lawson also took a moment to give a shout-out to everyone on the GH set, saying: "I just want to say everybody there is a consummate pro. It's a wonderful set to work on. It's fast, but it's fun, and it felt like a homecoming. So, thank you very much, and all the love to everybody at GH!"
As viewers of the episode saw, Lawson's character Dustin responded to Lulu's online dating profile. Her actual intent was trying to find a thief who sets up dates with women through an online app and then robs their homes while they're out meeting their "date." However, she found Dustin instead, which was a pleasant surprise. Both characters seemed to be having a great time on their date, so there's a possibility that Lawson might be back again for more.
Lawson starred as OLTL's Brody from 2008 to 2012. His additional credits include Pitch, Ex-Wife Killer, Killer Reputation, and Killer Contract. Here's hoping for Lulu's sake that there's not a theme going on here, and he doesn't end up with a "killer" title in Port Charles, too!
