Farah Fath returns to daytime -- but not in a Flash

Farah Fath will join the cast of One Life to Live later this year, but it will not be in the role that everyone thought. The former Days of our Lives star had been up for the role of Sarah Roberts. According to the actress, the show had other plans for her talent.

Farah Fath is returning to daytime, but Days of our Lives fans are going to be a little heartbroken. The actress, who appeared as DAYS's Mimi, has jumped ship and landed on another show on another network. The actress will begin work on ABC's One Life to Live later this year.

"I believe I stated earlier that my goal was to be working again by the fall," Fath said in a statement on her official web site. "Well I am back to work this September. Goals CAN be achieved! I have inked a multi-year deal with the ABC soap opera One Life to Live."

Rumors of Fath's addition to OLTL have been circulating for a few weeks. Her name had been bandied about as a possible recast for the role of Sarah "Flash" Roberts. However, the actress states that she will not be taking on the role of Sarah when she joins the show.

"I was considered for [Sarah] but the execs have decided to write a role just for me," Fath explains. "Which is why I won't start taping for a few months. I am SO honored and excited."

Meanwhile, the show has cast an actress in the role of Sarah. For more, click here.

Fath started her daytime career in 1999 as Mimi Lockhart on NBC's Days of our Lives. She remained with the show for nearly eight years, exiting in March of this year.

In mid-August, Fath's character was finally given a name -- some three months after Fath's addition to the One Life to Live cast was first announced. The actress will play Gigi Morasco and will make her debut on October 24th.
