Bradford Anderson books pilot

Two-time Emmy nominee Bradford Anderson has landed a role in a pilot for a new series based on a mystery novel. Like his General Hospital character, Anderson's primetime alter ego will also be heavily involved with computers. There is currently no premiere date set for the series.

Another General Hospital star has landed a primetime role. According to a published reported, Emmy-nominated GH star Bradford Anderson (Damian Spinelli) will co-star in the pilot for a cable television channel. While fans are celebrating Anderson's accomplishment, some are fearful that the new gig could result in the actor leaving Port Charles.

Deadline Hollywood is reporting that Anderson has been cast in an untitled pilot planned for the TNT cable network. The series, based on Marshall Karp's novel The Rabbit Factory, will be headlined by former Wings star Steven Weber as Mike Lomax and comedian D.L. Hughley as his newly married partner, Terry Biggs.

Lomax and Biggs will "delve into a world of mystery, intrigue and occasional hijinks," according to a news release from the New Mexico Film Office.

Anderson, meanwhile, will play a computer investigator working in the homicide department.

Anderson debuted on General Hospital in November 2006, in what was originally a recurring role. Less than a year after joining the show, Anderson was offered a long-term contract. The actor scored back-to-back Emmy nominations in 2009 and 2010 in the Outstanding Supporting Actor category.

The news of Anderson's role in the pilot prompted some fans to worry that the actor might be leaving General Hospital. It should be noted that the actor has given no indication that he plans to exit daytime.

There's no word yet on when the untitled series will debut.
