Rademacher said to be returning to GH

It's a move made by many daytime stars. After a successful run on a daytime drama series, a star looks to broaden his or her horizons. That may involve a jump to a primetime series or even a movie. In the past year, General Hospital has seen several of these jumps. In March, both Steve Burton (Jason) and Sarah Brown (Carly) announced plans to leave the show to pursue other opportunities. A month later, Amber Tamblyn (Emily) reportedly gave the show notice that she was planning to depart. These three stars probably won't be the last stars to head off in search of other jobs - and they certainly weren't the first.

On August 28, 2000, Ingo Rademacher (Jax) left General Hospital, a place he'd called home for nearly four years. Rademacher joined the NBC primetime soap, Titans, a show that was canceled after just a handful of showings. With Titans' cancellation, Rademacher was forced to find other work.

Last month, rumors surfaced that Rademacher had once again been spotted on the soap circuit. The Australian-born star was seen at the Days of our Lives studio reportedly testing for a newly created role. Now comes word that Rademacher has been spotted at General Hospital.

Though unconfirmed by ABC, Soap Central has been told by at least one insider that Rademacher returned to speak to executives about reprising his General Hospital role. Soap Opera Digest has similarly reported on this same sighting.

The source goes on to say that Rademacher is not yet filming scenes for the show and might not be doing so for at least a few weeks. Speculation is that Rademacher will make a return in late May - near the end of Sweeps - or sometime in June.

The questions wind on as some wonder if Jax will return to Port Charles with Brenda by his side. In December of last year, Vanessa Marcil, who played Brenda Barrett from 1992 to 1998, didn't rule out a return to General Hospital. At the time, though, the actress said that she wasn't ready for a return. Now several months later, fans and insiders are wondering if the timing is now right.
