February is usually regarded as the month that's perfect for romance, but it looks like Days of our Lives might be using it for a little Horton family drama, as well. Actress Jaime Lyn Bauer has announced that she filmed six episodes as DAYS' Dr. Laura Horton in December that are set to air in early February.
In a lengthy post on Facebook, Bauer shares that returning to her NBC soap role was a bit strange, considering the COVID-19 safety protocols that have been in place since the series returned from the industry-wide shutdown in September.
"[I filmed] under COVID rules with 2 tests at the beginning of each work week and one test every day after that," she shares. "You come into the building, test then go back out and wait in your car until your test comes back negative and then they wave you back in. A mask is worn everywhere. Rehearsing your lines with another actor happens over the phone."
Bauer continues, "Once you are called to your set, your mask can only be taken off once you are on your set and doing your camera rehearsal. We come into the studio already having done our own makeup and hair (to the best of our ability) as we can only be in a makeup or hair chair for 15 minutes! And they set timers! The strange new world of Hollywood!"
Bauer also shared how she and her family have been dealing with COVID-19 in general, which you can read in her full Facebook message below.
I wrote to all of you a few days ago and it was not posted for whatever reason. All to say that I shot 6 shows for Days...

Fans can look forward to seeing Bauer's DAYS appearances on February 2, 3, 4, 9, 10, and 11. Details about her storyline remain unknown at this time, but she'll likely share scenes with Laura's on-screen daughter, Jennifer (Cady McClain). Bauer last appeared on DAYS in 2018.
