The Bold and the Beautiful has cast yet another high-profile name in the transgender community with the addition of Sonny and Cher's son, Chaz Bono.
The actor is heading to the CBS soap for a special guest-starring role as a minister on Thursday, March 31, and Friday, April 1, People reveals.
"I'm very excited to have been cast in a role on The Bold and the Beautiful," the 46-year-old told People in a statement. "I'm grateful that they are willing to pay me to do something I love, which is to act."
The author and activist was recently featured on Oprah: Where Are They Now?, where he opened up about transitioning from female to male and how the decision helped him gain a positive self-image.
Since introducing the storyline in which fan-favorite character Maya (Karla Mosley) revealed she'd been born male, B&B hasn't shied away from continuing the socially relevant material, even casting real-life transgender actor Scott Turner Shofield last spring.
